Is Pokémon Queerphobic?
Could Pokémon Possibly Be Queerphobic? Note: I do not intend to hate on Pokémon, simply stating this from my perspective. From My Experience... From my experience, when I was playing on my DS on a nice Saturday afternoon, I was battling a Bidoof, quite a cute one, and I realized one of my Pokémon (I cannot recall which one) had this move called "attract." From the years I grew up on Pokémon, I can remember what this move did. It made the opposing Pokémon fall in love with you, paralyzing them until the other Pokémon is returned or defeated. Picture is not mine. But then, why, does this only work on the opposite gender? I just then realized how many childhood things I grew up on weren't actually 1000% children-friendly nor clean. Childhood (kinda?) ruined. So, basically homophobic. This is probably the straightest thing in all of video game history. And as a Bisexual person myself, I was quite surprised. Now, re-reading this I am probably overreacting. Like a lot...
